Welcome to the site of Sydney Underground Films, an independent production company that produces, creates, and distributes alternative, arthouse, and avant-garde films.

Sydney Underground Films works in conjunction with the Sydney Underground Film Festival (SUFF), where both infrastructures assist each other in providing services for those interested in alternative film.

Sydney Underground Films is currently in post-production for their latest feature film, NUDE STUDY. The film was half shot in the searing heat of mid north coast beach town of Port Macquarie, Australia and the frozen climate of small Yukon town of Dawson, Canada.

The project was made possible by a number of private investors who we sincerely thank for coming on board. The “SYDNEY UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL 2007 FILMS” DVD compilation has just been released. The compilation features 22 memorable films from the 2007 festival. Showcasing a diverse and unique range of creative filmmkaing styles from up and coming filmmakers from Australia and overseas; the films are sure to impress and astound.

From Paul Winkler’s quirky and catchy POP KITSCH, to SODA_JERK’s recycled footage film PICNIC AT WOLF CREEEK, to the amusing super shorts from William Mansfield, to the technical and aesthetic wizardary of Cristian Pozo’s beautiful love story ANONYMOUS, to the twisted films by American filmmaker Daniel Schneidkraut that always get a good reaction!

This DVD is nothing like your usual festival compilation DVDs. The films exhibited on this DVD are thoroughly thought provoking, unconventional, provocative, playful and entertaining. A must watch DVD for arthouse lovers.

Through this compilation, the Sydney Underground Film festival extends its ethos of cultivating a community spirit, harbouring creativity and providing outlets for the appreciation of quality independent and experimental productions.
